Misty Blu started braiding family members hair at a young age in Kansas City. She has a formal education in hair care, training professionally at both a Vo-Tech and House of Heavilyn Beauty College in Missouri. Also, during this time she won first place in her first hair show competition. In 2001 Misty became self-employed as a subcontractor in her first salon. Later, in 2009 Misty start playing with makeup and discovered her love for it.

 

Soon after she was insire to share her skills and develop her talent by starting her tutorials, hauls and review as a guru on Youtube. When makeup challenges was thing on facebook Misty soon started growing interest and challenging herself in SFX Makeup.

 

Nine years later from all the positive feedback she was getting from her peers she desire to add makeup to her brand in 2018 under Misty Blú which launched her freelance makeup artistry. After winning a weekly challenge on Syfy's Face Off page; February 12, 2012 in which she competed against thousands of others as a prosthetic makeup artists creating prostheses such as those found in science fiction, fantasy, and horror films.

 

This inspired her to add makeup services to her brand focusing on fashion and beauty campaigns in 2018 because there is not limit in this industry on being creative; doing business as Misty Blú which launched her freelance makeup artistry. ​ Misty began working on fashion shows in Kansas City and New York as a freelancer also focusing on theatre, television, film, fashion, magazines and other similar productions including all aspects of fashion and modeling. She have been featured in articles and magazines such as Voyage Magazine. Working also on sets alongside some of the most influential industry photographers and fashion brand.

 

Misty has made appearances discussing makeup and hair expertise on numerous platforms and also has worked on set for a reality show Battle of the Strut out of Atlanta, which was expected to air on national television.

Misty is establishing herself as a successful entrepreneur with a business empire spanning a variety of industries from a kids clothing boutique, personal care, health and wellness, also has further expanded the brand by creating Out the Blú Beauty Bar, an upscale salon dedicated to consistently providing un-matched customer satisfaction. Opening a salon and creating products is enough evidence of Misty’s dedication along with giving customers the tools they need to achieve health beauty and personal care.
